¡Una Navidad Espanglish!
When I first found this online (by Anon.) quite a few years ago,
only the last word of each line was in Spanish.
Over the years I’ve added a bit more Spanish each Christmas.
Every year I tweak it a little.
I hope you enjoy the 2019 version!

Twas la noche before Christmas y por toda la casa
Not a creature was stirring, ¡Caramba! ¿Qué pasa?
Los niños were durmiendo in their camas.
Some in long bragas, otros en pijamas.
Habían colgado the stockings with mucho cuidado
Esperando que Santa would feel obligado
To bring los niños both buenos y malos
Una bolsa of dulces & other regalos.

Out in la calle arose such a grito
Que salté to my pies like a frightened cabrito
Corrí a la ventana & looked out afuera
And quién en el mundo do you think that it era?
Saint Nick in a trineo and a big gorro rojo
Came corriendo like a loco bombero
And tirando the sleigh en vez de venados
Ocho burros pequeños approaching volados.

Miré as they came & this quaint little hombre
Was gritando, silbando & calling by nombre:
‘’Ay Pancho, ay Pepe, ay Cuco, ay Beto,
ay Chato, ay Chopo, Macuco y Nieto’’
Pues standing a pie with manos on his pecho
Voló to the top of our very own techo.
Con su round little panza like a bowl of jalea
Luchó to squeeze down our vieja chimenea.

Then huffing & puffing por fin en la sala
With ceniza all over his red suit de gala
Llenó los calcetines with muchos regalos
For ningún of los niños had been very malos.
Then riendo tanto, seeming very contento
He turned in a flash & se fue like the viento.
Y le oí exclamar, & this is verdad
Merry Christmas to all, y Feliz Navidad.
