I’m so busy! ¡Que ocupada estoy!
You know that saying ‘If you want something done, ask a busy woman’ ?
I AM THAT WOMAN!
Most of my groups are full or nearly full. My teaching timetable is full. I’m opening a waiting list now, for private classes & for places in groups in case anyone drops out when term starts next week. That rarely happens – but sometimes people just get cold feet!
I still find time to do written translation work though. I really enjoy this, & can usually turn translations round within a couple of days, or within a week if it’s for a long document. I’ve never missed a deadline yet & usually beat them!
Add in committee & board meetings for AMJASA & all the reading that comes with it (TONS of reading!) & you’ll realise why I rarely socialise! Here’s another saying: ‘Make hay while the sun shines’. Well that’s what I’m doing! We have lots of sun (could do with some serious rain tbh to put some water in those storage tanks – sorry…. Amjasa hat on there for a minute) & it seems to be shining on me at the moment so I’m making the most of it! 10 more years to retirement if I can bear to when the time comes………
A few people have contacted me to check that they still have a place in the same group as before the summer. The answer is YES – unless we’ve specifically spoken about you changing groups in the past week or two. So I’m looking forward to seeing almost everyone ‘same time, same place’ (there’s another saying..) next week from September 5th. Except Friday classes, which won’t start until Friday 16th due to the port being pretty much closed down on the 9th for La Vuelta de España cycle race time trials.
Might have to think about getting a cleaner… hmmmm
